Aida, played by Sophia Defayette, sings a solo surrounded by her fellow slaves during a dress rehearsal for the Peru Central School Drama Club performance of “Aida.” The Broadway play tells the story of a Nubian princess enslaved in Egypt who falls in love with Egyptian captain Radames, who is already betrothed to the pharoah’s daughter, Amneris. Performances are scheduled for 7:30 p.m. today and Friday, March 10, and at 2 and 7:30 p.m. Saturday, March 11.
