Dana McLaughlin (right) and Antonette Knoedl of Plattsburgh relax on the grass near the Samuel de Champlain Monument on Cumberland Avenue in the City of Plattsburgh with their male ginger tabby, Crixus, who is named after the character of the same name from the Starz historical-period drama television series “Spartacus.” The recent outing was Crixus’s first time out on a leash, and as with most cats, it did not go very well. He refused to walk much and spent most of the time in the park hiding under the blanket. McLaughlin also has a cat named Spartacus.
