Chapter One Coffee and Tea, owned and operated by Tracy Vicory-Rosenquest, has opened in Plattsburgh Public Library, serving coffee from Lakeside Coffee and Adirondack Coffee Roasters, along with hot and iced tea and chai, espresso, pastries from Rulf’s Orchard and more. Catering for events is also available. A member of the community had brought up the idea of a coffee bar in the library, its Board of Directors ran with it and the City of Plattsburgh Common Council approved the plan. Vicory-Rosenquest pays rent for the space, which was renovated for her use at a cost of about $15,000 from funds the library had set aside. Patrons are allowed to consume their beverages and snacks throughout the library, except at the computers.
