Champlain Valley Educational Services students under the supervision of art teacher Meredith Jacobs and physical education teacher Kim Mayer receive a brief history lesson on the brick building at 44 Pike Street in the City of Plattsburgh from a costumed Matt Boire of the Greater Adirondack Ghost and Tour Company. It was once home to Benjamin Mooers, a lieutenant in the American Revolutionary War and major general of volunteers in the War of 1812. The history-tour and art-walk field trip gave students a way to combine physical education and art, as they were invited to display their work at local businesses by the First Weekends Committee through May.
