A firefighter peers into a house at 439 Moffitt Road in the Town of Plattsburgh following a fire there Wednesday evening. Clinton County Dispatch put out a call for the fire at 7:50 p.m. with Beekmantown and Cumberland Head volunteer fire departments responding. Mutual aid was provided by departments from West Chazy, Cumberland Head, South Plattsburgh and District 3 with Chazy and Cadyville departments on standby. Around 8:15 p.m., a firefighter said in a radio report over the scanner that the fire was mostly under control and that overhauling had begun. The firefighter remarked that the fire had been largely knocked down by the time crews arrived. The home is owned by William Castine Jr., according to the Clinton County Real Property Office website. Beekmantown was back in service at 9:49 p.m.
