Monday, September 15, 2014. As a part of the bicentennial of the Battle of Plattsburgh, hundreds gathered at the Macdonough Monument in downtown Plattsburgh for a memorial ceremony to celebrate Commodore Thomas Macdonough's naval victory and the 126-foot tall obelisk erected in his honor.
