Congresswoman Elise Stefanik speaks to the media during a tour Friday of the Water Tank Farm at the end of Kimberly Lane in Morrisonville with Town of Plattsburgh Supervisor Michael Cashman (center) and Town Councilor Barb Hebert (left). With Stefanik’s encouragement and a letter of support, the Town of Plattsburgh applied for (and won) a $500,000 Economic and Infrastructure Development Investment Program grant from Northern Border Regional Commission for the installation of two 12-inch water production wells and construction of a treatment building for fluoridation and chlorination at the location. “We really prioritized this project,” Stefanik said. “This is an example of a win for this district and a win for infrastructure. It’s so critical, not just to Plattsburgh, but to the broader Clinton County, to the broader economy.” The town also provides water to the towns of Schuyler Falls and Beekmantown.
