Sgt. Chris Paiser, his wife, Mary, and oldest son, Ryan, 16, (from left) along with his other children, Dylan, 10, Olivia, 11, and Victoria, 13 (not shown), and his guide dog, Ike, were honored at the Veterans Day ceremony at American Legion Post 20 in Plattsburgh. Paiser, a disabled veteran from the 2nd Battalion, 108th Infantry Regiment, based in Morrisonville, was deployed in February 2004 to Iraq and was injured June 16 that year. Paiser received a Purple Heart medal of honor after returning home, blind from a shrapnel wound.
