Franco's Country Kitchen has opened at the site of the former Kaya's Country Kitchen at 334 Cornelia St. in Plattsburgh. Owned by Nicole and Jerry Franco, formerly from Nadim's/Saleem's, they feature home-style cooking for breakfast served all day, lunch and dinner. They hope to soon add a pizza oven and to stay open all night for late-night customers. Free coffee with a refill is being offered in March, and permanently for police officers, firemen and rescue workers. They are open 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday and Friday, 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday. Call 563-8230 for more information.
