Huge chunks of ice were placed on farmland at Chrisadam Acres on Water Street in Fort Covington last week as they were pulled from the Salmon River to free up the water flow. Orange traffic cones dot the ice surface near where the Salmon meets the Little Salmon River, indicating where ice-removal work was to resume Monday.
