Zak Smith (right) of Rouses Point discusses all things nautical with Erick Tchonuk, first mate on the Lois McClure. The full-scale replica of an 1862-class sailing canal boat, from the Lake Champlain Maritime Museum, was docked at Gaines Marina in Rouses Point for two days as part of the Town of Champlain's Lake Champlain Quadricentennial activities. In conjunction, the Rouses Point-Champlain Historical Society hosted a wine and cheese party. The next event on the schedule is the Point au Fer Racing Club/Samuel de Champlain Cup sailboat race, which begins at the breakwater near Stony Point in Rouses Point at 10 a.m. Saturday.
